Dream

Once upon a time, at a large mountainside there was an eagle nest with 4 large eagle eggs inside.
One day, an earthquake rocked the mountain causing one of the eggs to roll down to a chicken farm, located in the valley below.
The chickens knew that they must protect the eagle egg. Eventually, the eagle egg hatched and a beautiful eagle was born.
Being chickens, the chickens raised the eagle to be a chicken. The eagle loved his home and family but it seemed his spirit cried out for more.
One day, the eagle looked to the skies above and noticed a group of mighty eagles soaring. ”Oh,” the eagle cried, “I wish I could soar like those birds.”
The chickens roared with laughter, “You cannot soar like those. You are a chicken and chickens do not soar.” The eagle continued staring at his real family up above, dreaming that he could be like them.
Each time the eagle talked about his dreams, he was told it couldn’t be done.
That was what the eagle learned to believe. After time, the eagle stopped dreaming and continuedto live his life as a chicken.
Finally, after a long life as a chicken, the eagle passed away.
Moral:
You become what you believe you are. If you ever dream to become an eagle, follow your dreams, not the words of chickens.

React / Respond

At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.
Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but …it landed on another lady in the group. Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.
The waiter rushed forward to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the movement of the cockroach on his shirt. At the opportune juncture, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.
The Question : Was the cockroach responsible for the edgy behaviour inside the restaurant ? Of course yes. It was the cockroach and the eerie feeling that it generates that caused such commotion.
If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed ? He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.
Please note, it was not the cockroach, but the inability of the ladies to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach that distressed them.
Therefore, it is not the shouting of my boss or my wife that disturbs me, but it’s my inability to handle the turbulence caused by their shouting.
It’s not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the annoyance caused by the traffic jam.
Bottomline More than the problem, it is the uncontrolled reaction to the problem that creates chaos in our lives. The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded. Thus, do not react in life, but always respond.
Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of, poised and save a situation from going out of hands. Thus, to avoid cracks in relationship, to avoid taking decisions in anger or anxiety, to avoid stress or hurry , to have a calm personality……stop reacting, start responding.

I'm leaving (funny)

The mother-in-law arrives home from the mall to find her son-in-law boiling angry and hurriedly packing his suitcase.

"What happened ?" she asks anxiously.

"What happened!! I'll tell you what happened.

I sent an email to my wife telling her I was coming home today from my business trip.

I get home... and guess what I found ?

Yes, your daughter, my wife , with a naked guy in our marital bed!

This is unforgivable, the end of our marriage. I'm done. I'm leaving forever!"

"Calm down, calm down!" says his mother-in-law. "

There is something very odd going on here.

My daughter would never do such a thing! There must be a simple explanation.

I'll go speak to her immediately and find out what happened."

Moments later, the mother-in-law comes back with a big smile.

" I told you there must be a simple explanation ..... she didn't receive your E-mail!"

Story of my Rose

As you guys know, it is pretty boring to stay at home and do nothing on week ends so I was planning and diverting my energies in various directions. I have invested on a small ceramic vase and a rose plant stick from my local #Leicester Market  in Sep 2012

My rose belong to 'Hybrid tea' class and it is called 'memorial day' . They are the most popular class of modern roses medium-tall, upright and bushy spiral blooms with more than 50 petals per flower, with pink flowers

For my surprise first flowers came with in a month. So I thought flowers will be there always. Then the winter creeped in UK and my rose plant didn't give any flowers ...

Sad part is I forgot to take pics of my first roses even though I have shown the flowers to my family 3600 miles away via Skype.

Finally after 10 months and many watering my plant started blooming in July 2013.

Ann's Rose Plant

Ann's Rose Flowers

I learned few things from rose plant,

  1. Best time to plant a Rose is early spring
  2. Choose a location in full sun / near window
  3. Prepare the soil with compost
  4. Water thoroughly and keep soil moist.
  5. Keep garlic white covering on 'top of soil' to keep the plant safe from small insects.
  6. Optimal time to prune a Rose is late winter.

Happy Gardening friends..

Rose plants are the ultimate in functional decorating. Some well-placed greenery can not only brighten a space but also purify the air and they're also helpful in creating a more relaxing, restful ambiance in any room.

I always welcome suggestions and comments.

With Love,

Ann
